He may not be a household name, but Cuban-born world traveler Omar Sosa’s accomplishments are much bigger than name recognition. The seven-time Grammy-nominated pianist and recipient of the Smithsonian lifetime achievement award, Sosa returns with his band Quarteto AfroCubano for two shows in one night. Known for his vibrant globe-hopping fusion of traditional jazz, Latin rhythms, North African beats, and Afro-cubano, Sosa’s impressive 25-plus discography and world-renowned avant-garde approach to composition prove that he can’t be contained by labels or zip codes.
