Paul Evans: Crossing Boundaries and Crafting Modernism

When: Tuesdays-Sundays. Continues through Oct. 12 2014

Nearly half a century after studying Metalsmithing at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Paul Evans brings the first comprehensive survey of his work back to the metro Detroit area. This exhibition documents his role in the midcentury American studio furniture movement, including his approach to furniture as a sculpture and abstract composition and his new approach to metal. Don't miss your chance to see early pieces of Evans's metalwork and jewelry, as well as some of his collaborative pieces. This exhibit runs through October 12th.
