The Psychedelic Furs are the miracle child of The Doors, the Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Roxy Music, and the saxophone sounds of free jazz. At the time, founding members and brothers Richard Butler and Tim Butler were just trying to deviate from the three-minute punk songs dominating the radio in the late ’70s. Thirty-five years and seven studio albums later, they are now regarded as one of the most innovative post-punk bands of all time. Look forward to an energetic, genre-hopping set that promises songs from their seminal self-titled debut as well as their later, more new-wave/pop albums, like Mirror Moves. Though more obscure on U.S. soil, Australian ’80s post-punk band The Church are legends in their own right, and co-headline in promotion of their most recent album, Further/Deeper.
