When: Fri., Sept. 8, 7 p.m. 2017
Curated by Destroy All Monsters co-founder Cary Loren, Punk House is a brand-new companion exhibit to Sonic Rebellion: Music as Resistance and it’s taking over Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead. The show “aims to situate the role of ‘punk’ within the broader theme of cultural resistance” and from now until January 2018, guests will be treated to an internal mural by Savage Pencil, site-specific art by Detroit-based artist James J. Millross AKA Jimbo Easter, and other works. In conjunction, Third Man Pressing created an LP and a graphic zine will also be created with an accompanying DVD featuring live performance footage.
