Blind since birth, New Mexico native Raul Midon has released seven albums since 1999 and has worked with legends like Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock. Midon graduated from the University of Miami in 1990 with a degree in jazz composition, and his music certainly shows that expertise. From the early days in his career as a session singer for Latin musicians like Shakira and Jose Feliciano, Midon definitely knows jazz. The New York Times called him “a one-man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus,” and truer words couldn’t have been spoken about him. His latest album Badass and Blind debuted this year.
