Red Wings logo appropriated by white supremacists, team vows to explore 'every possible legal action'


On Saturday, a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia turned violent as protesters and counter protesters clashed, causing the state's governor to declare a state of emergency.

There's a lot to unpack here — we honestly just don't even know where to start — but we were especially baffled to see the Detroit Red Wings' logo appear in photos of some of the white supremacists' home-made riot shields.

Apparently, there is a Michigan-based white supremacy group called the "Detroit Right Wings" that has appropriated the team's logo. Soon after the images surfaced, the Red Wings were quick to issue a statement, saying it "vehemently" disagrees with the rally and promised they were "exploring every possible legal action as it pertains to the misuse of our logo in this disturbing demonstration."

Soon after, President Donald Trump issued a statement:
