Renaissance Festival

When: Sun., Oct. 1

Opened in 1979, the Michigan Renaissance Festival is a 312-acre interactive recreation of a late 16th Century English village that attracts nearly 250,000 people every year. It runs from late August until early October, making it a fun fall tradition for Michigan families, pirate-lovers, and full-blown weirdos. Fun fact: the 2009 film All’s Faire in Love, starring Christina Ricci, was filmed mostly at the Michigan Renaissance Center.
