Robert Hayden Lecture and Reading

Please join us for a special lecture honoring the legacy of legendary Detroit poet Robert Hayden. Hayden served from 1976–78 in a role known today as U.S. Poet Laureate. Author and poet Frederick Glaysher will lecture on Hayden's life and work as well as perform readings of Hayden's poetry. Glaysher studied writing under a private tutorial at the University of Michigan with Hayden, and edited both Hayden's poetry and prose. Glaysher will also read from his epic poem The Parliament of Poets, in which Hayden is a character.
