The titular duo, of Hamlet fame, are central to Stoppard’s existential comedy about life, death, reality, and fate; however, they are not alone. From a coin toss to an encounter with a traveling troupe of actors, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern find themselves playing themselves, being themselves, and interacting with the actors and characters from Shakespeare’s most celebrated tragedy.
