The Royal Oak Symphony will open its 2018-2019 season on Friday, October 19, at 8 pm with “Women in Music: A Symphonic Celebration” at Royal Oak Middle School. The concert will feature women in various musical roles. Featured soloist will be Sharon Sparrow, Assistant Principal Flute, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, performing “Concertino for Flute and Orchestra” by Cecile Chaminade. “Poet and Peasant Overture” will be conducted by Marianne Corrigan, a members of the ROSO first violin section. The second half of the concert will feature Symphony No. 3 by Grazyna Bacewicz, a 20th century, award-winning Polish composer.
Price: Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors. Students age 18 and under are free.
