There aren’t many musical languages that Bishop doesn’t just know, but the old guy can bejazzle your brain with his fluency in all of them, from Django-esque workouts to Incus-worthy bird calls. Some of them he invented himself, as a founding member of the Sun City Girls, who released at least 50 albums in their 28 years together (and at least two of those are amazing). Richard Bishop is probably one of the most exciting people from Saginaw, and you never really know what you’re going to get from a night out with him and his guitar. It’s less likely to be what you want him to play, and more likely to be what you truly need to hear.
