Sonic Youth: 30 Years of Daydream Nation

Thirty years ago, Sonic Youth dragged the underground into the light with the band’s fifth and seminal album Daydream Nation. In fact, the collection containing “Teen Age Riot,” “The Sprawl,” and “Rain King” was preserved by the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry for its cultural importance. To celebrate Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, and Steve Shelley’s contribution to a major convergence in indie music, filmmaker Lance Bangs is taking highlights from his Daydream Nation concert film on the road along with rare and unreleased footage.
