After old Tiger Stadium was demolished in 2009, the corner of Michigan and Trumbull in Corktown quickly became a garbage-strewn, weed-choked vacant lot. It was pretty ugly. But a group of volunteers led by local mailman Tom Derry soon came to the rescue and began restoring the baseball field, much to the chagrin of city officials. This is the story of the Navin Field Grounds Crew. Director Jason Roche and members of the NFGC will be on hand.
