When: Tue., Jan. 26, 7:30-9 p.m. 2016
“Telling Our Stories: Narratives for Recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous” will be presented by Stephen Strobbe, PhD, RN; Clinical Associate Professor, University of Michigan School of Nursing, and the Department of Psychiatry. Storytelling has always been an important part of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). We examined 24 new personal stories in the 4th edition of the Big Book, and found that these accounts shared certain elements and structures. Here we propose a model to help us better understand and appreciate these transformative narratives. This program is part of the Dawn Farm Education Series.
