Circles, squares, curves and arcs, angles and triangles are the building blocks of fascinating textile construction. When you add beautiful colors and texture with stitch and embellishment, there are infinite possibilities for fabulous creations. TEXTILE GEOMETRY features compositions by Michigan artists Katie McGrath and Kathyrn Schmidt that emphasize the use of geometric shapes, colorful fabrics, and thread embellishments. Their textiles are designed to appeal from a distance and draw the viewer in to enjoy the intricate details. TEXTILE GEOMETRY opens with a free public reception on Friday, January 4 from 6 - 9 p.m.
