When: Tue., Sept. 26, 7 p.m. 2017
For an alternative rock band to have survived 31-years is no easy feat. For Cincinnati five-piece the Afghan Whigs, it’s a reality. Though they disbanded for a decade back in 2001, their latest effort, 2017’s In Spades celebrates a new side of an old band. There’s a weightiness to Whigs rocky ambience that, observing now, is monumentally influential (we’re looking at you Brand New.) Don’t for a second think that they’ve softened, however. In fact, their evolved well-roundedness screams of a band who’s done it all before, just not quite like this.
