Detroit artist Linden is teaching modern interpretations of an ancient painting technique called encaustics. The classes will be an overview meant to appeal to students any level. A brief history of the medium and show samples of its varied applications in art history. Students will be shown how to paint with hot beeswax mixed with resin and pigment and fuse it with implements such as a blowtorch or heatgun.
