Shutouts often happen in football, soccer, baseball, hockey, lacrosse — just about any sport, really. They almost never happen in basketball. Yet that's exactly what happened yesterday when Cass Tech's girls basketball team beat Osborn 80-0.
According to the Detroit Free Press
, coach Marissa Thrower even took her starters out of the second half to try and level the playing field, to no avail. "Don't make me out to be a bad guy. We did not press Osborn," Thrower told the Free Press
. "My starters … they played about 6 minutes the entire game. I don't know what to do in a situation like that."
