Students at Central Michigan University received text alerts this morning reporting shots had been fired on the fourth floor of Campbell Hall, an on-campus dormitory.

students are advised to avoid the area. The subject is still at large, but further details are not available. All Mount Pleasant schools are currently on lock down at this time.
The CMU's College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences is advising students to "hide and stay alert."
The Detroit Free Press
reports campus police and Mt. Pleasant Police have confirmed shots were fired, but did not provide further information.
