In recent days, a number of observers have speculated that San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh would take a job as the next coach of the University of Michigan's football team. If Jason Cole of The Bleacher Report is correct, Ann Arbor should roll out the welcome mats:

Two members of the San Francisco 49ers staff and a third NFL source said Saturday they expect 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh to accept a six-year, $48 million contract to become the head coach of the University of Michigan.

"That's what everybody on staff believes is going to happen this week," one of the sources said. "Jim has figured out that his style is best-suited for the college game. His shtick works better with young guys who are gone after three or four years."

Plenty of reports in recent days have suggested as much; U-M has been more or less begging Harbaugh, who enjoys laser tag and also once smeared a player's blood on his own face like war paint, to coach his alma mater.

Officials from Michigan visited the San Francisco area this weekend, "presumably to lock down Harbaugh to be the school's next coach," the Detroit Free Press reports

In the meantime, while we wait for this to become official, here's a video of Harbaugh on an episode of Saved by the Bell (h/t Deadspin).
