Tomorrow night the weather will be warm and summery, if not a bit rainy — prime time for sampling craft beers, wines, and spirits in the open air.
Dabble in the Farms starts tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. and the Grosse Pointe Farms tasting event will bring together craft breweries, wineries, and spirits-makers along with local food trucks and live music. Breweries present will include locals like Atwater, Right Brain, Frankenmuth Brewery, Rochester Mills, and Millking It Productions as well as nationals like Sierra Nevada, Shock Top, and New Belgium.
Cocktails mixed up by some of Detroit's best bartenders will include a Gin Rickey made with Plymouth Gin, fresh lime, and soda. Tommy's Margarita will be mixed up with Cabresto Tequila, fresh lime, and agave. An After All promises Tito's Vodka, Aperol, and sparkling Lemonade.
Mac Shack, Detroit Barbecue Company, Taste Budz, and Time 2 Chill will be present with food.
Joe Choma produces and organizes the now four-year-old event. He says it's about more than eating and drinking from quality craft outlets.
"Dabble provides us an opportunity to showcase the charming beauty and community of the Pointes, drawing some much-deserved attention to new development underway on the Eastside," he said in a release. The event also raises money for local charities. In fact, over the last three years the event has raised over $20,000 for local nonprofits.
Tickets to Dabble in the Farms are $45 at the door and comes with 15 tickets, which can be used for beverage samples only. All food will be cash and carry.
