Modern beer hall-style restaurant Lumen will debut adjacent to downtown Detroit's Beacon Park in early April.
When up and running, the restaurant will offer menu items like a pretzel with rojo beer cheese and dijon mustard; a cured fish plate with smoked trout, whitefish spread, farm egg, capers, red onion, and a bagel; and a Michigan pork chop with schnitzel, red cabbage, new potatoes, and whole grain mustard. Prices will range from $6 for soup to $27 for steak.
The restaurant is a partnership between Beacon Park owner DTE Energy and the LePage family, which owns Griffin Claw Brewing Company among other restaurants. On the taps, seven of the 12 drafts are from Griffin Claw, and all but one are Michigan beers.
Lumen will be especially exciting in the warmer months. The Free Press
describes the 4,000-square-foot building as "futuristic" and surrounded by street-level patio space with seating for 150, while a grand staircase leading up to a roof patio offers 45 more seats and a panoramic view of downtown.
