Barrett Strong

As part of the legendary Motown recording and production duo of Whitfield and Strong, Barrett Strong helped craft such classics as "Papa Was a Rolling Stone," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Just My Imagination." This dynamic artist hasn't stopped writing and his latest work is comfortably reminiscent of the uplifting R&B that put Detroit on the musical map. Hints of pop intensity peek outside the veil of easy-going maturity that comes with time and experience. Barrett's been there and done that, but you can tell he's enjoyed the trip every step of the way and slowing down is not on the agenda.
