If you snagged the DVD and Blu-ray release of the '70s low-budget exploitation flick Gone with the Pope
(we know there were so many of you out there clamoring for it), you might have noticed a seemingly glowing endorsement from MT
's own Jeff Meyers on the cover, crowning the film "A glorious masterpiece!"
Of course, that's not the full quote. Meyers' original review
continues: "...of moviehouse craptitude."
Other quotes from Meyers' original MT
review they could have used instead:
"It's the cinematic equivalent of putting lipstick on a sexist, racist pig."
"... set in a world where logic has no place, actors can’t act and everyone has bad hair, lurid ’70s outfits (love those jumpsuits!) and a cigarette addiction."
"Connoisseurs of crap will love every idiotically sordid frame."
