Joyce Carol Oates is not OK with 'barbaric' dinosaur poaching

Though she used to be a professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, author Joyce Carol Oates might possibly reconsider taking zoology class.

On Wednesday, twitter user Chris Tilly hilariously tweeted a photo of Steven Spielberg posing next to the triceratops from the set of the original Jurassic Park. "This guy thinks it's cool to kill defenceless animals then take a selfie," Tilly wrote. "Jerk."

The tweet went viral, which is how it landed in front of Oates, who retweeted it with the message "So barbaric that this should still be allowed... No conservation laws in effect wherever this is?"

It is currently unknown whether Oates was adding to the joke, or if she had mistaken the triceratops for an elephant or a rhinoceros. As Gawker notes, Oates historically hasn't been that great at Twitter.
