On Saturday, we checked out a launch party at Jam Handy for Grand Circus, a new glossy lifestyle magazine with a Detroit focus. The magazine was funded by partners Eileen Tjan and Alex Trajkovski with help from an Indiegogo fundraising campaign launched earlier this year.

Issue No. 1 features 90 pages of handsomely designed features, fashion spreads, and photo essays, on topics ranging from Detroit architecture, punk band Destroy All Monsters, Fellow Barber, upscale eatery Antietam, and more.

Trajkovski tells us copies (which retail at $15 per issue) can be purchased in Detroit at Astro Coffee and Eldorado General Store and in Ann Arbor ar Literati Bookstore and Today Clothing. He says the magazine will even be available in select Chicago and New York shops as well. (You can order one on the magazine's website.)

Below, check out some spreads from the first issue.
