Sorry, we only had room for 3.75 lesbians.
The Ringwald Theatre, Detroit's home for gay-themed farce and drama, is closing out its 2014-2015 season with Evan Linder and Andrew Hobgood's comedy "5 Lebians Eating a Quiche."
The story is set during the height of the Red Scare, during the annual quiche breakfast of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein, which just happens to be threatened by Communists. If that sounds weird, it's exactly the kind of wacky comedy the Ringwald has made its specialty.
It opens this weekend, on Saturday, Aug. 22 and closes Sept. 14. Shows are at 8 p.m. Saturday and Mondays, and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $20 for performances on Saturday and Sunday, and $10 for Monday nights. Students get $5 off Saturday-Sunday with valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased at theringwald.com or at the theater's box office.
