Signature Tattoo's annual $20 tattoo anniversary party is this Saturday

In 2010 the strip of Nine Mile Road that constitutes Downtown Ferndale saw a little revitalization. The block got a handful of new businesses including a tattoo shop that housed artists like Mark Heggie and Dan Rick. In the five years since it opened, Signature Tattoo has celebrated each passing year by offering the public $20 tattoos and for each anniversary droves of ink addicts have taken them up on the offer.

It's once again that time of year and Signature will be celebrating another birthday come Saturday. From noon to midnight, customers will be able to select from hundreds of custom designs to be permanently embedded into their skin for just one Andrew Jackson.

The event is first come, first served (read: there will be a long line, so come prepared to wait a bit), and they will be taking cash only. A valid photo ID will also be required for services. You'll be able to select from flash-style designs that were created by the shop's artists specifically for the event. While none of the artists do custom pieces during the party, we did once convince an artist to add moth feelers to a butterfly design, so we're guessing small modifications are generally permitted.

Signature Tattoo is located at 230 W. Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale. For more info call 248-439-0021.
