Detroit photographer makes leap from Instagram to billboards

Keep your eyes peeled for the billboards featuring the work of local photographer Tony Majka.

The photographer, perhaps better known as @tonydetroit to his 382,000 Instagram followers, was selected by 1800 Tequila to feature his work in a new advertising campaign, which includes 15 billboards around Detroit.

According to an interview with the Detroit Free Press, Majka, 43, has a day job testing cars off the assembly line for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. His photos of Detroit made him an early star on the social media app Instagram, which he started using five years ago.
