What do you get when you cross Judaism with reggae and outspoken veganism? Well, in all cases you would get the one-of-a-kind Jewish hip-hop maven, Matisyahu. For well over 17 years, Matisyahu has broken new ground and shattered boundaries between religion and music, fusing the two with a totally unorthodox flair. The 38-year old beatboxer, rapper, and alt-hip-hop master shocked in 2012 when he shed his beard to usher in a new era. <br>
Matisyahu will perform at St. Andrew's Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 12; 431 E. Congress St., Detroit; 313-961-8961; saintandrewsdetroit.com; doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets start at $27.50.
