To hell with boys club. Tangent Gallery’s Annual Venus Rising Art Show is celebrating its sixth year and is more dynamic than ever. The show, comprised of dozens of women artists, exploring an array of artistic mediums including performance art, music, live painting, and body painting, as well as shopping and food vendors. Twenty-five percent of the event’s proceeds will support Alternatives for Girls — an organization that supports homeless and high-risk female youth with the necessary opportunities and resources to succeed.
The 6th Annual Venus Rising Art Show runs from 7 p.m.- 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Tangent Gallery; 715 E. Milwaukee St., Detroit; 313-873-2955; tangentgallery.com; Tickets are $10.
