El Club mixes pets and pinups for a good cause

The dog days of summer are upon us so why not pet them all?

The first in a three-part event, El Club and Pretties for Pitties presents a fundraiser with food and furry fun. All profits raised at the BBQ, Pets, and Pinups event will help fund a microchip clinic later this year — every $10 raised will provide one dog with a microchip tracker so metro Detroit’s canine companions can stay with us furever.

There will be barbecue eats (with vegan options thanks to the Grim Feeder) as well as a merch booth and pet contests. All dogs welcome — as long as they are vaccinated, have IDs, and play well with others!

BBQ, Pets, and Pinups event begins at noon on Saturday, June 16 at El Club; 4114 W. Vernor Hwy., Detroit; 313-279-7382; elclubdetroit.com; Admission is free, donations welcomed.
